Celebrity Homes: Chicago Cubs' Ben Zobrist Buys New Chicago Home for $1.84M

The Chicago Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist is now settling in Chicago and reportedly bought a new home for $1.84 million. According to Realtor, the Cubs snagged Zobrist in a free agent market last year for a $56 million contract for four years after playing with Kansas City Royals, the Oakland A's and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. It was reported that the team considers him as the one of the key players which will finally enable them to win a World Series after more than a century of waiting making it the longest title drought in the Major Baseball League.

It was reported that Zobrist and his wife bought this 4,800-square-foot home that was newly completed and was listed for $1.9 million in August. It has a total of six bedrooms and four full bathrooms. It was said that the couple was looking for a property with a lot of bedrooms and also a three car garage which is very rare in Chicago's older neighborhoods. The home is located at North Center in the area known as the St. Ben's area.

According to Chicago Business, the couple wanted a place with a lot of bedrooms so that visiting family members will have a place to stay and everyone will be comfortable. One of the advantages of the home's location is that it is just a mile and a half from Wrigley Field. The listing agent also said that the couple was looking at several houses in the city but settled on this one because it had character. One of the features that contribute to the home's character is the round bedroom set in the front turret and a curved staircase. The listing photos also show that the living room has beamed ceilings and it also has a modern kitchen. Several bedrooms also have marble finishes and there is also a wet bar in the basement.
