A gorgeous cabin in Birmingham, Alabama is getting all of the hype that it deserves.
According to House Beautiful, the one of a kind cabin is owned by Julie and Jimmy Cash. The couple has always been into log houses and this is the very reason why they decided to have one built for them.
"I was forever taking pictures of old log houses with the hope of having one someday," Julie told Country Living.
As it turned out, the couple was also very particular with the kinds of materials that will be used in building their home.
"If we couldn't have old logs, then I didn't want it," she said.
Julie and Jimmy then decided to partner with Walden Log Homes to have their concept translated to an actual work of art.
Meanwhile, the couple also shared that approximately 80 percent of their home was made out of recycled materials. Thus, each piece of wood that was used before has a contribution to history.
"We're just the latest caretakers of these logs. They have a real story to tell. Each time you look at them, you see something different," Julie said.
The house has everything that you would normally see in a modern-looking abode. This includes a spacious porch that has enough sitting area, a kitchen with a sink, an oven, storage spaces, freezer and windows.
The dining room is also a breath of fresh air because even the bench and the table itself were made out of wooden materials.
To add to this, the Cashes property also has a beautiful but simple library with two cushion chairs and a table that's perfect for reading.
Even the staircase going up to the master bedroom and the guest bedroom are made out of logs.
