Ashley Olsen is expanding her New York real estate portfolio after buying a 3,000-square-foot condo in Greenwich Village for $7.3 million. According to Street Easy, the unit sits in a majestic 1898 building that formerly housed an art gallery. Before that, developer Edward Minskoff paid $26.6 million for the eight-story building and transformed it into an exclusive and private condo that would attract many celebrities like Olsen.
According to New York Curbed, the other half of the Olsen twins bought one of the flat units in the building and it contains two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. It also features 11 foot ceilings, a private elevator and exposure on the north and south sides.
The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances from Miele, Wolf and Sub-Zero. It is also designed with high end finishes like reclaimed marble. The unit is also said to encompass the full floor of the building. The building also offers some amenities like 24-hour-doorman and a fitness center.
Ashley is the current fashion designer and co-founder of the clothing lines Elizabeth & James and The Row along with her twin sister Mary Kate. This is not the first time Ashley purchased a property in the city back in 2004 as she bought a penthouse at 1 Morton Square in the West Village for $7.4 million with her sister. They later listed the property and it was sold in 2010 for $7.7 million.
Other properties that Ashley listed include the $26.9 million penthouse at 37 East 12th Street which has a total area of 6,235 square feet over two floors. There is also the $14.995 million townhouse unit which is a duplex that has a total area of 5,886 square feet. Her sister, on the other hand, bought an astonishing townhouse at 226 East 49th Street in Turtle Bay with her husband, Olivier Sarkozy in 2014.
