With the recent release of Apple's latest iPhone, the rumor mill is saying that Samsung is set to launch the latest in its Galaxy phone line by late December 2014 or early 2015. After coming out with the Galaxy Grand 2 in the earlier months of the year, the South Korean tech giant could finally be unveiling the Galaxy Grand 3.
While the new Galaxy could maintain most of its predecessor's features, talks have been going around that one major change for the upcoming version is a bigger screen. Samsung has always been known for coming up with wider-screened phones and the newest phone in their portfolio is no exception, according to a report by The Fuse Joplin.
Slightly bigger than its earlier version, the Grand 3 is said to have a 5.5-inch screen. Display would probably remain the same at 720 x 1280 pixels but with a slightly lower pixel density of 267 ppi as opposed to Grand 2's 280 ppi.
In the current selfie generation, another factor that matters to most buyers is the camera. And it seems that the Grand 3 promises not to disappoint. Probably the one with the best camera in its line of smartphones, the Grand 3 is rumored to possess an astonishing 13MP for the rear camera and 5MP for the one in front. Should this be true, it would be a huge jump from its precursor's 8MP-rear camera and 1.9MP-front camera.
Another probable addition to the phone's powerful specifications are a quad Cortex-A53 at 1.2 GHZ and a RAM of 1.5GB. The two are set to make the Grand 3 one of the fastest smartphones to hit the markets soon.
Its internal memory of 16GB could also be expanded to 64GB to hold all files, music and photos. Technos Amigos reported that the new phone would probably run on Google's latest OS, the Android KitKat 4.4.4. and may have a 64-bit Snapdragon processor and 410 chipset.
Those on the go would enjoy the Samsung Galaxy Grand 3's numerous connectivity options. If rumors are to be believed, the phone could connect very easily Whether on WLAN, dual band or Wi-Fi. It also dongles as a hotspot for sharing network to other devices. It is also fitted with a v4.0 Bluetooth for quicker transfer of files.
Aside from an FM radio, it would also be able to open and play WMV, MP4, H.264 Player and FLAC Player on the said phone, according to galaxys6samsung.com. Not only that, the unit would have a ready photo editor and document viewer already so there would be no need to download third party applications, though features may be limited.
In terms of price, the Grand 3 is expected to be priced at around $385 dollars soon as it hit the market, which is still relatively cheaper than the iPhone 6. Price for the data plan is still not included.
