"The Vampire Diaries Season 6" is just around the corner but it seems like fans and the entertainment world can't hold the excitement anymore. A bunch of spoilers about the upcoming season has been released, and maybe, just maybe, the most interesting among all of these is that Elena and Damon are set to go through a honeymoon stage, reveals executive producer, Caroline Dries.
1. Damon and Elena back together
It can be recalled that the fourth season ended in a rather dry and disappointing way when Elena was more than ready to confess her feelings to Damon but was sadly called to a halt. However, that does not mean it will forever end that way. In an interview with the Alloy Entertainment, Caroline Dries revealed that Damon and Elena will be back together. "Elena is consciously making a decision to confront her feelings for Damon", the executive producer shares. Now, the excessive dose of frustration with the season 4 ending may just well be compensated by the much awaited season 6 considering a subtle confirmation that the two are going towards a sweet track.
2. Expect a Damon and Elena Honeymoon period
Dries tells Alloy Entertainment that "people were just happy that we pushed the football down the field a little bit more with them, as Elena consciously making a decision to confront her feelings for Damon...When we first got them together at the end of season 4 and they kissed in front of the fireplace, we then cut to three months later." The producer says that they are interested in "playing around a bit with were those initial stages." She describes it as "sort of the honeymoon period of a new boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. The upcoming season is definitely sweeter than ever.
3. Caroline will be facing challenges as Sheriff Forbes struggles against cancer
Fashion Times reports that there will be "consequences for Caroline as she tries to figure out life as Sheriff Forbes battles cancer." Now this is supplemented by an interview with Dries who said, "Caroline at heart is a control freak and being a vampire has made her an even bigger control freak. So when you tell a control freak, 'Here's something you have absolutely no power over and there's no solution for it,' she's not going to accept that. Caroline is going to try to take matters into her own hands, and there will be some interesting consequences."
These are only some of the spoilers that would surely increase fans' excitement. "The Vampire Diaries" season 6 is expected to air January 22, 2015.
