Nothing says Holiday Spirit like Nike's new Basketball Christmas Collection. In the sporting brand's 2014 holiday release, themed signature shoes for LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant are up for sale during the Yuletide season.
Three signature shoes -- the LeBron 12, Kobe 9 Elite and the KD 7 will be released this weekend. Nike emphasizes a distinct Christmas theme in each shoe.
The LeBron 12 Akron Birch has a camouflage design that sports a birch tree winter pattern. With its emerald green, dark emerald and hyper punch color combo, the show is inspired by the Ohio year-end season, the hometown of LeBron James.
According to Nike, "The emerald green base combines with the shoe's photorealistic camouflage upper on the Hyperposite shell. The camo pattern is inspired by Akron, Ohio's winter weather and includes a birch tree pattern. Black and Hyperpunch micro dots integrate into the camo pattern for a seasonal touch."
Displaying the brand's attention to even the smallest detail, a snowflake is embedded in the shoe's tongue loop.
The next pair is the striking red Nike Kobe 9 Elite "Christmas". Channel a modern Santa with the bright crimson, white and black reflects Kobe's "fluid style of play." The Kobe 9 makes use of the new Nike Flyknit technology that carries a knit stocking design.
As an added treat for Kobe Bryant fans, the shoe carries a "Mamba's Greeting" inscription on the shoe's inner tongue.
The last shoe on the festive KD 7, nicknamed "Egg Nog" has a cream white with orange tone that sends out the seasonal drink, the eggnog.
"The shoe continues to bring Durant's personal stories to life - this time paying tribute to his favorite holiday beverage, egg nog. A red Hyperposite heel integrates glossy flecks emulating the condensation on a glass of egg nog," noted Nike.
The Kobe 9 Elite Knit Stocking has a price tag of $225 while the The KD 7 Egg Nog costs $170. The last shoe, the LeBron 12 Akron Birch retails for $220. Both the KD 7 and LeBron 12 offers kids sizing (3.5Y to 7Y) at $115 and $160, respectively.
