While many anticipate an official announcement from LG for its rumored G4 smartphone, numerous reports on its supposedly new and better features are spreading widely. Some say that the Korean tech giant's upcoming device will see the jump of some of its TV's features into its handheld gadget.
Design & Trend came up recently with a list of possible new specifications for the fourth generation G phone. A bigger display is among those indicated, with a possible 5.5-inch screen for the G4. Aside from that, a 4K resolution may also characterize the new phone. According to PC Pro, this might come with the G4 as most of the tech company's recent TV releases sported such dimensions, which does not seem impossible to be adapted to its smartphone. While it would definitely boost the viewing quality of its users, it is also good to note that not many were amused with its precursor's display resolution. The 2560 x 1440 pixels took a lot from the G3's battery life, which could probably get worse if the G4 does come with a 4K display.
On the other hand, with the advent of bendable screens for smartphones, LG is not to be left behind. On a roadmap released by the company in November this year, it noted flexible and fully bendable smartphones on its pipeline for the coming years. In a report by Gadgets.NDTV, the Korean tech firm might also adopt the Plastic O-LED display used on the LG G Flex to its other products such as televisions, monitors, and automotive infotainment systems.
While its predecessor boasted of waterproof hardware, LG is rumored to be upgrading its G4's unimetal-body and gunning for an enhanced IP67 certification rating for its new device. Should this push through, the G4 will have an edge on rivals Sony Xperia and Galaxy S5 with its up to 1 meter water submersion quality.
Of course, another big news for the upcoming smartphone is a faster processor. Rumors are saying that it would be outfitted with the Snapdragon 808 or 810 to give a boost on its speed. A report by International Business Times noted that a possible higher RAM could also be on board to support the new processor.
LG has always been known to come up with top-level phones at affordable prices and those awaiting the G4 are expecting no less than that. With this, talks are saying that the flagship unit may be available between $650-$700, which would still put it cheaper than Apple's iPhone 6 and Samsung's Galaxy 4, reported IKnowToday.com.
