Before the year ends, Nike is already getting ready for the first surge of new footwear to be released on January 2015, with the Jordan Melo M11 series, KD 7 Ext "Longhorn State," Kyrie 1 "Deceptive Red" & Kobe 9 Elite "What The", NIKE reported.
The Jordan Melo M11 is Carmelo Anthony's signature Nike shoe and is inspired by the player's childhood in Brooklyn, New York. It comes with the brand's pinnacle technology, the FlightPlate. It consists of a moderator plate placed over the forefoot of the Nike Zoom unit and gives the shoe ample cushioning that makes it easier for the player to harness energy at every liftoff.
The footwear will come in three colorways next year, with "Concrete Island," "Jordan Family" and "Gold Standard."
"Concrete Island" comes in a combination of blue graphite, black, game royal and metallic silver, and is inspired by the grit and shine of New York. There is gray across the forefoot and detailing along the tongue that's reminiscent of street art and bright graffiti. It also has a collar for ankle support, leather on the upper, and a web-like strapping system, according to Nike and Kicks On Fire.
"Jordan Family" was created in honor of former professional player Michael Jordan, who supported Anthony throughout his 12-year career with the NBA. It comes with the Bulls colors of white, gym red and black, which is Jordan's former team and pays tribute to their rivalry during the 1990s, according to Nike and Nice Kicks.
"Gold Standard" comes in black and blur and its name was voted on by fans on Twitter after Anthony's insistence on getting fans involved, according to Sneaker News.
All the colorways will be available on Jan. 3 at a price of $160 on select Nike stores and Nike's online store. Those who pre-order a pair will also have their shoes shipped to them come Jan. 3.
The KD 7 Ext "Longhorn State" was inspired by Kevin Durant and his hometown in Austin, Texas. It has an animal print on it with a pony hair on its upper, black accents along its suede midsole, strap and tongue. There's also a Swoosh brand on the toe and heel and a gum sole that features a Zoom Air Bag, making for a comfortable wear.
The "Longhorn State" will be released on Jan. 9 and will be available in select Nike retail stores and Nike's online store at $200.
The Kyrie 1 "Deceptive Red" was designed by Leo Chang to match Irving Johnson's quickness and speed. The footwear is light and comes in bold bright crimson, black university and red-blue lagoon colorway. It comes with the Nike Zoom Air cushioning, a dynamic grip for traction and Hyperfuse tech for stability and breathability, according to Nike and Sneaker News.
The "Deceptive Red" will be released on Jan. 10 and will be available in select Nike retail stores and Nike's online store at $110.
Lastly, the Kobe 9 Elite "What The," inspired by Kobe Bryant and designed by Eric Avar, is similar to previous versions of the Kobe 9 Elite. It displays a multicolored blue, black and chlorine colorway, as well as shades of blue, red, green and orange on its Flyknit upper and orange and neon green on its Swoosh brand.
The Nike Kobe 9 Elite "What the Kobe" will be available at $225 on Jan 10, 2015 at Nike's online store and select Nike Basketball retail stores.
