It seems that Taylor Swift had an unforgettable time welcoming the New Year. Not only did the pop star wow the crowd waiting in New York with a stunning performance on New Year's Eve, she also tripped down the stairs on her way off the stage.
The slip came after she performed her chart-hitting songs, "Shake It Off" and "Welcome To New York" from her album "1989." Swift was on her way to host Ryan Seacrest, to wait for the ball to drop at midnight when it happened.
According to Cambio, the songstress was walking down the stairs when she tripped on a step and slipped a bit before quickly righting herself up. The incident happened in front of many fans, and perhaps to say that she could really just shake it off, the blonde beauty laughed at what happened and waved, much to the crowd's delight.
According to a report by E! News, the singer looked flawless in a crop top, black tights and silver blazer during her first performance. When it came to her second song, the Grammy-winner took off her blazer and gave a sizzling show in spite of the biting cold.
Amidst the screaming crowd in Times Square, Swift introduced her anti-haters anthem saying, "I know in 2014 there was something that got under your skin. It really bothered you. Now is the time, New York City. I want you to shake it off!"
After finding her way to Seacrest, the host asked Swift regarding the chilly weather. "Are you not freezing?" he said. The star cracked a joke in reply, and said, "I'm absolutely freezing. This was the wrong choice."
Being an absolute gentleman, Seacrest asked the songstress to hold his mic and began undoing his coat's buttons so he could hand it to Swift. The star looked embarrassed as she waited for the host to finish what he was doing.
She added, "Are you stripping? This is a family show. My God. This is so inappropriate." After a few seconds, Seacrest placed the coat on top of a shivering Swift, much to her surprise.
The star's performance was a great way to cap an amazing year for her. Time reported that the singer's album, "1989" has already overtaken Disney's "Frozen" as 2014's best selling album. Nielsen Music noted that since it has been released nine weeks ago, the album has already sold 3.66 million copies.
