Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather 2015 Fight Negotiations On-Going

2015 may just be the year we see Pacquiao and Mayweather in the same ring. An adviser from the side of Pacquiao has confirmed that negotiations are underway to make the highly anticipated showdown come true.

A report by The Ring said the two camps are currently making negotiations to make fight happen. Speaking to The Ring magazine, Pacquaio adviser Michael Koncz said, "We're still in negotiations with Floyd's group through Top Rank. I spoke to Manny this morning."

He added, "I gave Manny what is perceived to be a counter offer from the Mayweather people."

The two were supposed to fight each other in 2010 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas after both camps agreed to the negotiation deals. According to SB Nation Bad Left Hook, the fight could have raked them up to $40 million each.

However, while the two boxers have already finalized potential earnings involved in the fight, they couldn't come to terms with the drug-testing part. According to Bleacher Report, Pacquiao's refusal to submit to an Olympic style drug test (OSDT) in spite of giving a 14-day window to take the drug test, was not enough for Mayweather so the fight did not push through.

Even after the failed match, offers and counter-offers continued to go back and forth their camps to make sure the fight would happen. And it seems that more talks are happening now to really see it through, according to a report by Yahoo.

After Kocz confirmed that a new offer has been made earlier last week, he said, "We discussed it and now I've given instruction to Bob to counter their offer. We've been going back and forth.

"Bob has been negotiating with powers that be on Floyd's side for the past couple of weeks. There's been offers and counter offers, and a couple of days ago Bob called me and gave me allegedly where Floyd's side is, and I discussed it with Manny two hours ago."

Pacquiao has made his intentions to fight Mayweather very clear after his win against Algieri. Mayweather responded to the challenge and agreed to fight him, noted ESPN. The fighter, who was interviewed in San Antonio, said, "Let's make the fight happen for the people and the fans. Mayweather versus Pacquiao, May 2nd, Cinco de Mayweather."

But Pacquaio's side is yet to confirm this. Kocz noted, "Now I've given Bob our response to that. I'm never overly optimistic until the contract is signed, but the good thing is that we're still going back and forth."

Until either side makes a final announcement, it remains to be seen if the match will indeed push through this year.
