Rumors have it that Katy Perry is getting ready for more than just her upcoming performance for the 2015 NFL Super Bowl on Feb. 1, as she is also planning to throw some shade at pop singer Taylor Swift, Hollywood Life reported.
It seemed like the ongoing feud between Perry and Swift is still going strong and this time Perry is preparing to take a dig at the "Blank Space" singer who saw much success with her recent album "1989." A source told Hollywood Life that Perry is in "complete rehearsal mode" for her upcoming performance and wanted to make it memorable and feel like a party.
"She wants to make a statement with her performance and show that she is the biggest female act in the world and she wants to show that to everyone including Taylor, who she has a feud with," the source also added. "In Katy's eyes, no one can compete on her level."
The source claimed that the diss at Swift had something to do with a visual or a lyric that Perry will show or perform on stage.
Perry may not be the only star appearing on stage though, as reports have it that Pharrell Williams may be joining Perry as a guest performer, according to MStarz.
Perry's rumored plans against Swift follow the latter's alleged dig at Perry at the song "Bad Blood" off the "1989" album, a song which Swift called the "angriest" song on her album, according to Gawker.
"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," Swift reportedly said and divulged that the singer did something horrible. "It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me."
Swift never divulged the identity of the other singer, but rumors have it she was pointing at Perry as the culprit.
It seemed that this year's Super Bowl will not just feature a fight between two NFL teams though, but a possible fight between the two pop singers if Perry really does have something up her sleeve.
However, all popstar battles aside, this year's Super Bowl does have more in store as sports fan can look forward to the match between the top seeds of the AFC and NFC.
The playoffs were scheduled for Jan. 3 and 4 with Wild Card weekend, before the NFL Divisional Playoffs the weekend after. The Championship Game is scheduled for Jan. 18 before the NFL Pro Bowl on Jan. 25. It then comes down to the Super Bowl Pro Bowl XLIX scheduled for Feb. 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona and will be shown on NBC at 6:30 p.m. according to WHDH.
