'Insurgent' Movie, Cast & Trailer: Co-Stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James Dating Confirmed? [Rumors]

There is nothing more rumor-worthy than co-stars who may have taken their on-screen romance to real life. Such is the case with "Divergent" co-stars Shailene Woodley, 23, and Theo James, 30.

The young Hollywood stars, who are reprising their role for the sequel, "Insurgent" are causing an internet frenzy among fans.

Based on the recently released trailer, the chemistry between the pair, especially in their steamy scenes, is undeniable. So much so that people believe the two actors must have a real-life relationship happening.

According to Fashion & Style, the sex scenes included in the trailer video "caused fans of the series adapted from Veronica Roth's books to cause a frenzy on Twitter and forums."

Shailene has been linked to Hawaiian folk singer Nahko Bear, while Theo is said to still be involved with his long-time girlfriend, actress Ruth Kearney.

Before getting yourselves worked up, most of the fanfare has been generated by eager and hopeful fans. Based on recent reports by various sources, as of now, it seems the pair may not be an item.

Per an earlier article by Christian Post, if the two were dating, they would have obviously spent James' 30th birthday together, but that wasn't the case.

"While his birthday plans weren't leaked on the Internet, it may be safe to assume that he spent his big day with his girlfriend Ruth Kearney, despite all the Shailene Woodley couple rumors that have been floating around the gossip sites," Kpopstarz.com reported via Christian Post.

Additionally, Classicalite shared that that "it is all just a repeat of the same dating rumor non-sense from earlier in the year."

With photos and recent interviews as proof of the deepening "closeness" between Shailene and Nahko, the "Fault in Our Stars" actress isn't one to take relationships lightly.

Speaking to Huffington Post, the star said the following:

"I remember when I was 17, I had broken up with someone who was my first love. After we broke up, I decided to take a year to know me. I didn't want to date anyone else. I didn't want to look at anyone else. What I found was I had more fun with myself than I ever had with another person. My entire life, I felt like I had to depend on others for entertainment and depend on external experience in order to laugh and find things really funny. I became my own best friend. That was the most beautiful realization I had during that whole period."

Sorry fans, it seems this rumor is nothing more than just that -- a rumor.

Catch the movie, based on Veroica Roth's novels, when it's released in theaters Mar. 20 of this year.
