Are on again-off again celebrity couple Katy Perry and John Mayer back together? That's the question on everyone's mind as photos showing the pair stepping out for a date night in Beverly Hills, Calif. makes its way around the internet.
Perry, 30, and Mayer, 37, were reported to have had dinner together and after a great time headed to Katy's home where John spent the night, write Daily Mail UK.
While it's not clear if the time spent together was of a romantic nature, casual or regarding business, according to sources of People magazine, "They actually buried the hatchet a while back, and they are friends," a source said. "It's not a surprise they would see each other socially. She's focused on her career and making herself happy."
This is the first time the two were spotted together following their break up Feb. of last year.
During an interview with Chelsea Handler for Cosmopolitan's July 2014 issue, Perry was asked point-blank about her former flame and whether she thought they could still get back together.
"I know it sounds really hippie-shit, but I'm living in the now and not fantasizing about the future or [being] torn up about the past. I'm super Eckhart Tolle. I have a lot of respect for [John] still, and I know it goes both ways. There's no bad blood, but I'm sure there will be inspired songs."
The pair began dating during the summer of 2012 and has since split up and reunited a number of times. Prior to their highly-publicized split, Perry and Mayer were rumored to be heading towards an engagement. Days leading up to the break up, "Roar" artist was spotted on the red carpet sporting what appeared to be a massive ring on her left hand.
It was reported that their relationship was strained due to their hectic work schedules but more than that, it was said to have been their age difference. People recalled earlier comments by insiders that Perry, 29 at the time, still wanted to go out and party the night away -- something that was becoming too much Mayer.
While broken up, Perry was linked to DJ and producer Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Pentz.
