It seems that fans of the video game "Grand Theft Auto" would have to wait a long time for the 6th installment of the franchise. Rockstar Games is reportedly looking at a 2017 release for "Grand Theft Auto VI."
Following the success of "GTA 5," it's no wonder many are already anticipating the next "GTA." While the game developer has not made any official announcement regarding "GTA 6," it's possible that the next installment would come out in the next two years, said Master Herald.
Perhaps it may seem like a long agony of wait for fans of the video game but it may just be exactly how long it takes for the title to once again exceed expectations, noted Latinos Post.
Rockstar changed the way "GTA" was played in "GTA 5," which led to its immeasurable success among players. In a report by The Fuse Joplin, the gaming company finally decided to merge three characters in the story and gave players the option to chose who they would like to play as Michael -- Franklin or Trevor -- unlike in previous versions.
Rumors on what else could be expected in "GTA 6" are already a plenty as early as now. And if word is to be believed, players could possibly find themselves portraying a female main character, said Master Herald.
On the other hand, a possible bigger area could be the setting of "GTA 6." With the extensive world drawn for "GTA 5," the company might be pressed to match its size. But The Fuse Joplin speculates that a possible smaller universe with a tightly-packed map might come with the new version.
While Master Herald said that "GTA 6" would be out for the PS4 in 2017, there was no mention of the game being available to other platforms.
Oddly enough, The Fuse Joplin came up with a similar report in December but painted a scenario where "GTA 6" was made exclusively for Xbox One. The report entertained the idea of Microsoft possibly grabbing the next "GTA" all for Xbox gamers. Factors they considered were the price drop of the Xbox One console to catch up with PS4 sales and the company's desire for exclusive content.
Whether or not the game will be an exclusive and on what console, if ever, remains to be seen until Rockstar Games make an official announcement on the next "Grand Theft Auto." But for now, "GTA 5" is expected to come to PC on Jan. 27, 2015.
