Fans which have seen the trailer for the movie "Insurgent," are all up in a fit coming up with theories on one particular scene in the trailer. The clip, which featured Tris and Four on the run, showed an intimate moment between the two that led fans to wonder how it happened.
Shailene Woodley and Theo James would both return to play their roles Tris and Four in the sequel to Veronica Roth's "Divergent." The upcoming movie will continue with the story of Tris, Four and other divergents as they try to stay alive from the clutches of Jeanine Matthews, played by Kate Winslet.
While many interesting scenes were covered in the trailer, majority of the movie's fans zeroed in on the intimate moment between Tris and Four and came up with theories on its circumstances, reported Fashion & Style.
Among the theories include the couple's desire to have a child, pushing them to make love as they both believe that time is running out for them. While this may seem a bit "stretching the story too far," a fan has already written about this angle on fanfiction.net.
Another theory is that the passionate scene was born after the two had a huge fight and decided to kiss and make up.
An alternative to the amorous reunion theory is the possibility that Tris was placed under a trance and the scene was just imagined inside her head. Perhaps, the main protagonist of the story was experiencing a drug-induced simulation, which could have been enforced by Jeanine.
According to Bad Books, Good Times, someone from Amity injected her with a serum as punishment for violating the terms of their stay. This serum caused her to imagine the scene with Four.
Some fans however, believe the scene was a way for the producers of the film to balance out the "rape" part of the story, which incensed the fans of the movie. In the book, Tris is known to have a fear of intimacy. However, this fact was not established in the first movie. Fans theorize that the romantic moment between Tris and Four was a way for her to overcome her fear of intimacy.
Ansel Elgort would also be back to reprise his role as Caleb, Tris' brother while Zoe Kravitz is also back as Christina. Joining them are Maggie Q, Ashley Judd, Ray Stevenson and Jai Courtney.
"Insurgent" is coming to theaters on May 20.
