Things did not seem to go as planned for Farrah Abraham after she got a lip implant surgery.
In a report by Hollywood Life, the former "Teen Mom" star turned porn star got shockingly botched lips after going under the knife. Her lips appear to be ten times bigger than their normal size.
The 23-year-old celebrity revealed what had happened to her after posting photos of her new lips on her Twitter account, with the caption: "Girlfriends don't say I didn't warn ya! #BOTCHED."
She told Hollywood Life in an exclusive interview that she was attempting to get a lip implant, but the doctor used an anesthetic she was allergic to. She got a "massive attack" and was sent to the emergency room. She had not been on medicine for five days to help her body heal from the attack. In the end, she never received the lip implant.
John Zannis, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, told Hollywood Life in another report that there were different reasons as to why Farrah's lip surgery went awry. He said that it could possibly have been brought about by hematoma, where there is a massive swelling due to the collection of blood. Another reason is a negative reaction to the FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers available in the U.S. Both are reversible.
However, Zannis noted that if unapproved substances were used by a non-board-certified plastic surgeon, this may result in necrosis and permanent loss. Such case may be irreversible.
He stressed that people who want to get a lip implant must make sure that the doctors who will be performing the surgery are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Farrah pointed out though that she never had any issues with her doctors before, and said that she would never recommend top rated doctors from South California to any.
In an interview with InTouch Weekly back in 2012, Farrah said that she received a rhinoplasty and a chin implant, on top of two breast augmentation operations. She said that she felt gorgeous after receiving the surgeries, and added that she no longer hated anything on her face.
It was reported that she had spent $16,000 for the nose job and chin implant, in addition to the $5,000 for her breast augmentation surgery she got in 2010.
On another note, there is news going around that Farrah may be returning to the popular MTV show "Teen Mom." Rumors circulated that she had been fired from the show's reboot.
The original cast, including Catelynn Lowell, Maci Bookout, and Amber Portwood, were reported to return in 2015.
