"Peter Parker/Spider-man faces a new challenge to protect New York City."

However, Blastr does note that the casting could could mean a number of different things.

"For one, the Sinister Six film could be working under the pseudonym of a direct Spider-Man sequel, or perhaps there's just confusion over the film's title. Or, the more interesting option - Sony is moving the straight-up Spider-Man film back up, which is honestly the smartest move outside of cutting a deal with Marvel Studios," noted the site.

Following the less-than-expected results of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" in the box office, there was speculation that the third installment was going to be shelved or that Garfield was being replaced.
