'Avengers 2: Age of Ultron' Release Date & Trailer: New Teaser Revealed; New Trailer on Jan 12

Marvel Studios has definitely amped up their game to market the next "Avengers" movie. As fans eagerly await the film's box office release, the company behind the franchise has released a new teaser, much to fans delight.

Samsung has recently partnered with Marvel and came up with numerous Avengers-themed devices, which were on display at CES 2015. But aside from that, one of the night's highlights was a new featurette for the "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" film. According to IGN, the clip focused on the villain Ultron, which would be introduced in the upcoming movie.

Scenes from the first official trailer were rehashed for the new video but new shots were included as well. The new scenes showed Iron Man flying while he threw aside Ultron-bots. Another shot showed Ultron's minions crashing into the train where Quiksilver was in slow motion from the original trailer. The clip also included a scene where a Samsung building was hit and destroyed with all the fighting.

Aside from scenes from the movie, the featurette also included interviews with director Joss Whedon and cast members who discussed the importance of Ultron in the "Avengers" lore. Whedon was even quoted to have always thought of a James Spader-like character to play Ultron whenever he thinks of the villain, so he just went ahead and decided to get Spader to play the role, said Cinema Blend.

Because this is the first time Ultron would be shown in the movie, the video also showed extra footages of the concept art used for the villain in its broken form. This allowed viewers to understand better how the villain would evolve in the film. Ultron was originally created for good, noted Cinema Blend. How and why he became one of the bad guys might be explained in the upcoming film.

Meanwhile, Screenrant offered a different scenario on how Ultron came about. In an interview with Whedon, the director noted that they are approaching Ultron from another perspective since his original creator from the comic series, Hank Pym, would not be included in the characters of the upcoming film. With Pym out of the picture, a possible theory for Ultron's origin is that Tony Stark created him with the help of his butler Jarvis, who went the other way and betrayed Stark.

Marvel is set to release another trailer on January 12. "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
