One Direction Split Because Harry Styles is Gay? Weird Rumor Circulates Online

Yet another issue on Harry Styles' sexual identity arose after he made a comment on a photo posted by One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan, on his Instagram account, reports Latin Post.

Nial posted a selfie on his Insagram with his tongue sticking out, to which Harry made a sexually explicit comment: "Can I sit on your face? Please?"

The comment made by Harry sent the netizens into a guessing game of whether or not there was truth to the rumor of him being gay. Fans of the popular boy band were left in awe and repulse when they saw the message. Others believe that it was confirmation to the gay rumors.

Harry has been a huge advocate for gay rights, but he made it clear that he was straight and shrugged off the rumors that he was dating BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, noted Latin Post.

Doubts about Harry's sexuality were made after he made an ambiguous statement while in an interview with ODE's Lucy Jones, where he said that being a female was not an important quality in the person he is looking for.

In an article posted by MTV, resident astrologer Licorice Root was asked about what the future holds for the 20-year-old singer. The horoscope revealed that there is a possibility that he might get back with pop star Taylor Swift or model Kendall Jenner.

But it seems that Styles isn't the only One Direction band member who's causing a ruckus online. Social media users went on a frenzy mode after reports said that Niall has left One Direction.

Christian Post reports that the rumors started to circulate the web when Sugarscape and Yahoo Celebrity UK posted tweets claiming that 21-year-old singer, who was discovered in the X Factor UK, parted ways with the popular group.

Soon after, the hashtag #ReasonsNiallLeftOneDirection soared in the trending list on social media.

But all this remains to be a rumor, with Yahoo Celebrity UK announcing on Twitter that its account had been hacked. The new channel stressed that Niall was not going anywhere, as far as leaving the band was concerned.

Sugarscape, which pointed that its Twitter account had been hacked as well, tweeted that it was very sorry for causing any "heart attacks" over the false information.

As it turned out, the false claims had become something to laugh over for Niall's bandmates. According to a source, Harry, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, made light of the situation and sent a text message to Niall to come back to the group.

The source said that it was Harry's idea to keep the joke up and treat Niall as if he was no longer part of the band, as a form of joke.
