Lakers News & Rumors: Byron Scott Calls His Team ‘Soft’, Kobe Bryant Agrees

Byron Scott blasted the Los Angeles Lakers after absorbing their 25th loss of the season, calling their team "soft" several times following their blowout loss to the LA Clippers on Wednesday.

Scott, whose team went down by as much as 43 points in the game, said that he has a lot of respect to the Clippers, one of the top teams in the Western Conference, but he did not see the kind of effort he is looking for from his team.

"We were soft," Scott said via ESPN. "I have a lot of respect for that team over there. They're a good team. I don't consider them a physical basketball team, but they came out and punched us, and we were soft, period."

Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant agreed with Scott, saying that it was the same as his observation last month when he compared his team to "Charmin" toilet paper brand, but the 19-year veteran also admitted that the Clippers are just simply deeper and better than them.

"They're just better," Bryant said. "They've just got better players. They just come at you in waves. They're just deeper. Got a lot of shooters on the floor, and we're short-handed."

Lakers forward Ed Davis, who failed to slow down Blake Griffin in the game, did not disagree with Scott and said that they need to watch videos of their loss in order to become aware of the mistakes that they had.

"Obviously it left a sour taste in our mouth," Davis said of their humbling loss. "We definitely got to see what we did wrong. We can't act like it didn't happen. They definitely kicked our ass all the way around, so we definitely have to watch the film when we get back."

The Lakers are in 14th place in the Western Conference standings with their 11-25 record and are on pace to miss the playoffs for the second straight season barring major uprising in the second half of the season.
