Honoring the best in film and American television, the 72nd Golden Globe Awards has released the names of its winners. The awarding ceremony was held at Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
In a report by CBS News, among the films and television shows that received multiple awards were "The Affair," "Birdman," "Boyhood," "Fargo," "The Theory of Everything," and "Transparent." The nominations were announced on December 11, 2014.
Richard Linklater's "Boyhood," took home the grand prize with the Best Motion Picture (Drama) category, and won three awards out of its five nominations. Linklater was named the Best Director.
"The Grand Budapest Hotel," directed by Wes Anderson, was also awarded the top honor after wining Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical). It was also nominated for three other categories: Best Director; Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical), and Best Screenplay.
Meanwhile, "Birdman," which had seven nominations, only won Best Screenplay.
For the television category, "Fargo" received the most number of nominations with five, followed by "True Detective", "The Affair" and "The Good Wife".
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosted the event for the third consecutive and final time.
