"Jurassic World," the fourth installment of the much-loved Jurassic Park series may be getting a new dinosaur that caries human DNA.
It was reported earlier by various sources that in the upcoming film, a new dinosaur called "Indominus Rex" -- originally called "Diabolus Rex" or "D-Rex" -- will be appearing on the silver screen.
NTF reports that the Rex is a mix between a Tyrannosaurus Rex, velociraptor, a cuttlefish and a death adder. However, the site further shares that per an insider, aside from the above-mentioned genetic mix, the Indominus Rex will also have human genes in its DNA.
There are a lot of questions that come to mind that include why it was done and importantly, whose DNA was used?
"Apparently, the scientists at 'Jurassic World' want to add problem-solving intelligence to their pet monster," was all that the site could add on the news.
Chris Pratt and Colin Trevorrow Hints at Human-Dino?
"She's a highly intelligent animal. She will kill anything that moves," said lead actor Chris Pratt in the trailer released by Universal Studios in November.
Additionally, Trevorrow has also said during an earlier interview with E! Online via ScreenRant, "There are dinosaurs and there's the other-there's this thing that is not one of them, that is not of them."
Could it be that both Pratt and Trevorrow are referring to the dino-human hybrid when they made these comments?
Hopefully more information on this major leak will be made available in the new trailer set to make its debut during the Superbowl on Feb. 1.
The film "Jurassic World' is set 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park. The film features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park envisioned by the late John Hammond. However, like in all of its earlier films, we've learned, nature always finds a way.
The movie, directed by Colin Trevorrow, is scheduled for release on June 12 and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Judy Greer, Omar Sy and much more.
Below is the official trailer for "Jurassic World," hopefully we'll get more information on this interesting development once the new trailer is released in about two weeks.
