After a controversial photo on Instagram sparked talks of Beyonce being pregnant with her second baby, best friend Michelle Williams came to her defense and denied the rumors.
The former Destiny's Child singer was on "The View" to co-host with Rosie O'Donell when she shut down rumors of the "Put A Ring On It" singer carrying her second child, reported US Weekly.
Williams told her co-hosts, "You know, when she was pregnant people said that she wasn't pregnant and you know, it's just no truth to it. Sorry!" The singer further explained, "First of all, if you look at the picture, the baby bump is like where her knees probably really are so that's really, you know?"
The photo in question was posted on Instagram while the singer was in Thailand with her family, where they celebrated daughter Blue Ivy's third birthday and took a holiday break, said Hello Magazine.
In the photo, the 33-year old singer was lying on the beach covered in sand. The sand piles were placed in a manner to mold her bosom and her belly, reported CNN. This led to fans' speculation that perhaps the diva is subtly sending an announcement to everyone that she and husband Jay-Z are expecting a playmate for Blue Ivy.
If rumors are true, it wouldn't be the first time that Beyonce would announce her pregnancy in an unconventional manner. The "Drunk In Love" singer stunned the crowd at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards when after performing "Love On Top" live, she unbuttoned her blazer to reveal a baby bump.
In September last year, Jay Z fueled rumors that the couple was expecting another child when he changed the lyrics of one of his songs while in a concert, said Hello Magazine in a separate report. During his performance in Paris, Jay-Z replaced one line of his song "Beach is Better" to "cause she's pregnant with another one."
The rapper has already made known his desire to have more children as early as 2013. According to a past US Weekly report, the record producer wanted to have children enough to make a "little basketball team."
Hours after singer Williams was on "The View," Beyonce stepped out with husband Jay-Z to watch a basketball game, noted E! News. The singing duo was seen at the Barclays Center cheering for the Brooklyn Nets, which went against the Houston Rockets.
The singer was sporting a large trench coat, presumably to hide a baby bump and adding more fire to the pregnancy rumors, said Life & Style Magazine. But, it should be noted that the singer removed the coat to reveal a shirt tucked in high-waisted jeans soon as she and Jay-Z stepped inside.
