Fans of the Steven Spielberg-original dinosaur movie is set to see a different "Jurassic" movie in the latest film from the dino-thriller franchise. "Jurassic World," the film directed by Colin Trevorrow, is rumored to feature a new kind of dinosaur.
Speaking to Slashfilm, Trevorrow shared the plotline for the upcoming Jurassic movie. The film is set in a dinosaur theme park on Isla Nubar two decades after "Jurassic Park." Chris Pratt, who starred in the fourth movie, plays the role of a researcher who is assigned at the park.
The "Safety Not Guaranteed" director also confirmed rumors of a new dinosaur breed to be introduced in the film. However, no details yet of what the dinosaur would look like had been released. Aside from the hybrid, three dinosaurs that would be seen in the movie, including a Mosasaurus has been unveiled in the official website of the film, reported EN Stars.
The first official trailer of the movie has been released in November last year. The clip featured Ty Simpkins as Gary who is on the way to "Jurassic World" theme park with a friend. Visitors are enjoying the park's different shows including a hanging shark.
The video then turned to Claire, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, speaking to Owen, portrayed by Chris Pratt, about a new dinosaur breed the park's scientists are working on. At this point, the danger brought by the dinosaurs was made obvious in the video although no actual dinosaur was projected.
Rumors on what the hybrid dinosaur may look like has been going around and according to International Business Times, the new dinosaur is a combination of genes from the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Cuttlefish, Death Adder and a Velociraptor. Another rumor though, spoke of a possible human gene added to the dinosaur to amp up the intelligence factor. However, this remains to be seen in the movie.
Meanwhile, an upcoming trailer, which is rumored to feature new clips from the movie, is said to debut on the Super Bowl on Feb 1st said Digital Trends. It seems that producers of the film are banking on the high volume of people glued to Super Bowl Sunday to market their film.
But from the looks of it, the new trailer is taking a long time to come out as one of the fans of the franchise created a new trailer using LEGO figurines. The stop-motion animaton by Kristo499 reused scenes from the original trailer with the use of LEGO to create an exciting clip that captured the cast and dinosaur as toys.
The movie is set to hit theaters on June 12.
