"Iron Man" star Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her ex-husband, Chris Martin's, relationship with the "The Hunger Games" actress Jennifer Lawrence. While Martin, 37, and Lawrence, 24, haven't commented on their rumored relationship, Paltrow's discussion effectively confirms a budding romance.
During a recent appearance in Howard Stern's radio show SiriusXM, E! Online quoted the 42-year-old slammed reports she didn't approve of Martin's new leading lady.
"Who says I don't approve of Jennifer Lawrence?" said Paltrow while on air. "I respect him as the father of my children...It's his decision...He wouldn't be with someone who isn't great."
Jennifer Lawrence and the Coldplay frontman were rumored to have begun dating last August but reportedly broke up in late October. Sources of People Magazine reported last week that the pair have gotten back together and are giving their relationship another try.
After being spotted spending some time together over the holiday, an insider shared, "Even though they are both busy, the relationship is solid. They see each other when they can."
Several sources have claimed that aside from a hectic schedule, Martin and Paltrow's close relationship may have been an issue for Lawrence.
"She understands that the children come first with Chris and his relationship with Gwyneth is based around the family and it will always be a part of his life," added the insider. "Things are good between them."
Exes Still Close
The Goop creator also added that she and Martin are in a great place. The couple who share two children said she and her ex-husband of 11 years "actually have a really strong friendship."
"We have kids, we're always going to be a family," shared the blonde beauty. She adds that "Things happen and you're like, I'm sure he doesn't want to hang out with me and I don't want to hang out with him but for the sake of the kids, you do it. But you also don't do it all tense. You say, 'I really want to find the love for you and I want to forgive you and I want you to forgive me and let's have some fun as a family.'"
Gwyneth and Chris have two kids together, Apple, 10, and Moses, 8.
