'Taken 4' Trailer & News: Liam Neeson Hints at Fourth Film

"Taken 3" has just hit the cinemas and Liam Neeson has revealed it may not be the last franchise film.

According to Neeson, 62, when asked if he is interested in coming back for another film, the actor tells Fox News that Bryan Mills and his special set of skills may continue well into a fourth film.

"There's always... I think if audiences go and see it and they like these characters, I mean, I'd love to do something with Forest again, and if it's in a 'Taken' 4 scenario... great," said the actor.

This is an interesting response given that prior to the release of "Taken 3," Liam already ruled out the possibility of another film. Independent UK shared the comments of Neeson where the actor said, "I don't think there'll be a Taken 3. She can't get taken again, that's just bad parenting."

While it seems Neeson may be changing his mind, CinemaBlend's report says there's a slim chance a fourth film will ever hit the theaters. The site notes that the team behind the franchise has already stated that the third film will be the last. Apparently, Liam was one of those who wanted to make sure the story would conclude leaving minimal chances of another "Taken" situation to possibly arise.

Additionally, should the studio want to bring forth another film, the initial reviews haven't been stellar. Cinema Blend's review by Gregory Wakeman labeled the film "truly atrocious."

Well, regardless of what the reviews say, "Taken 3" has hurdled one negative review after another to become a considerable hit. Based on the box office figures, Den of Geek reports the third installment took in over $40 million domestically during its opening weekend alone.

When asked what Neeson focused on for the "Taken 3," the actor wanted to give the story continuity but wanted something more than a story about being taken.

"The main thing I was concerned about was, before signing on for the third, was that no one gets taken. That was the big concern for me. We couldn't do that again. We had done it successfully," admitted Neeson to Fox News.

"You can't insult the audience with doing another taken story, you know, where someone is kidnapped. They had written-- the writers Robert Mark Kamen and Luc Besson-- had written a very powerful screen detective and I remember thinking we better get a really top class actor for that and we got the great Forest Whitaker," said the actor.
