Kobe 9 'BHM' Release Date, Price & Where to Buy?

With the Black History Month soon approaching, Nike has once again chosen players and their respective signature lines sportswear editions that would honor the said occasion. And among the chosen lines for the Black History Month edition is the Kobe 9.

According to Kicks on Fire, the new Kobe 9 BHM colorway would sport a simple black and white finish and high top design. The upper part of the sneaker would also have the black and white colors interlocking for a more lively finish.

The sneaker would be outfitted with a unique pattern that has most of the black colors and accents dominating the outer part of the shoe. On the other hand, more of the white colors are found on the inner side.

On the outer side dominated by black, a white Nike swoosh appears, with another black one on the opposite side. The upper portion of the shoe wraps around the ankle with Flyknit material.

The sneaker, listed officially on Nike.com as the Black/White colorway, with a tonal midsole that has a carbon fiber detailing, while the outside sole is in pure white color.

According to a report by Sole Collector, the new BHM design of Nike is a bit similar to the KD 7 BHM edition, although the latest version would of course have a higher price tag. According to the Nike website, the shoe is set at $250 a pair.

But fans of the signature shoe line need not worry with the cost as a portion of the sales from all Black History Month designs of Nike, which includes the KD 9 BHM, would be donated to the Ever Higher Fund. The fund partners with different organizations that help underprivileged youths to achieve their dreams and be the world's next-generation leaders through sports.

Nike's Vice President and General Manager of Global Basketball told CS Monitor the big impact of sports in encouraging "positive social change." He added, "Our 2015 Black History Month Collection honors and celebrates the athletes and leaders who have influenced global culture and have paved the way for our next generation."

Apart from the Kobe 9 and the KD 7, other signature lines in the Nike brand's Black History Month limited edition sneakers are the Lebron 12, Kyrie 1, Jordan XX9.

The Kobe 9 BHM edition would hit Nike store and Nike.com on January 19 and would be available until the end of February.
