So much buzz is going around the upcoming sequel of "Pitch Perfect", which is expected to hit the theaters in May this year.
FDRMX reports that rumors have it that Christina Aguilera will appear in a cameo for "Pitch Perfect 2", which stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Skylar Astin.
Although some reports claim that the "Fighter" hitmaker is unlikely to appear in the film because she was pregnant at the time of the shooting, others say that the PR team of the movie was only using her name to draw fans to watch the movie.
Lately, Aguilera has been the talk of the town after rumors started to fly that she would be releasing her latest album titled "Blonde." However, up to now, no confirmation has been received yet on the release date or whether the album was even real to begin with. Rumors say she collaborated with several artists including Pharell Williams, Iggy Azalea, Rihanna, and A Great Big World.
On another note, Elizabeth Banks has taken the helm to direct the upcoming American musical comedy, which marks her first feature film as a director, according to Screen Rant
Written by Kay Cannon, "Pitch Perfect 2" revolves around the Barden Bellas as the group heads to the World Championships where no American a capella group has ever won.
Moreover, the sequel is more of a coming of age story as the members enter adulthood and into the world after graduation. In the film, graduating members of the groups, such as Beca (Kendrick) and Fat Amy (Wilson), will be seen passing the a capella torch to the younger members of the group.
In an interview with Yahoo!, Banks confirmed that the film will include appearances from well-known a cappella groups Pentatonix, the Filharmonic, and Penn Masala
The movie is loosely based on Mickey Rapkin's non-fiction book "Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory."
Reprising their roles in the movie are Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, and Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean, and Adam Devine.
The cast will be joined by Oscar-nominated Hailee Steinfeld and Katey Sagal, who portrays Gemma in the TV series "Sons of Anarchy."
"Pitch Perfect" grossed over $113 million worldwide at the box office, and reached Billboard Hot 100 charts for its song "Cups," which was sung by Kendrick, who has been nominated in the Oscars for her performance in "Up In The Air."
