Pacquiao vs Mayweather News 2015: Money Team Insider Says Mega-Fight 'Not Going To Happen'

Last week, Manny Pacquiao, 36, and his promoter, Bob Arum, announced that they've agreed to all the provisions regarding the much-awaitd super-fight and against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and are now just waiting for the latter to sign the contract.

As the world waits for Mayweather, 37, to agree to the mega-fight, a former "Money Team" member says the May 2 showdown is "not going to happen." After years of failed discussions, we are now the closest to a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight that we've ever been but rapper 50 Cent is insisting we will not see a showdown happen.

"That's not going to happen," said 50 Cent to Techno Buffalo. "You heard me say it on film. It's not going to happen."

The 39-year-old music icon says that with Floyd able to call on anyone for a fight, the undefeated American boxer won't be choosing Pac-Man. His knowledge of Mayweather has led him to assess that the boxer won't face Pacquiao just for the audience's sake.

"It don't happen if it don't have to," said the G-Unit frontman. "Later when they look at his actual record and look at what he's done, they're still gonna have to say, 'Who do you think could have beat him if it would have happened this way?'"

50 Cent and Mayweather's crew have had a falling out over the years but the rapper has kept it cordial with the champ, notes HipHopDX. Many speculate that rather than the Filipino boxer, Mayweather is more interested in fighting Miguel Cotto.

Manny, a Philippine politician and philanthropist, has already given Mayweather a deadline to sign agree to the May 2 fight set to take place in Las Vegas' MGM Grand.

"My promoter and I, we've already agreed to the terms and conditions of whatever he wants. We're just waiting on the signed contract from him," quoted the LA Times of Pacquiao. "That's the hard part - if they will fight or not. We have to know soon, because if they will not fight, we can move on and choose another opponent.

Citing he's not giving Floyd forever and keep everyone hanging, "We have a deadline ... this month," said Pacquiao finally.

Oscar De La Hoya Thinks Like 50 Cent

Hall of Fame boxer Oscar De La Hoya wants a fight to happen but he's not getting his hopes up as well.

"I want that fight to happen, but I have a feeling that it's not going to happen," said De La Hoya to BoxingScene. "Bob [Arum] and Pacquiao already conceded to everything. They have their deal in place, so now they are waiting on Mayweather. I just don't think Mayweather wants to fight Pacquiao. I don't think it's going to happen."
