For months, "Shake It Off" singer Taylor Swift has been rumored to be dating Matt Healy and he's decided to finally open up and reveal the true nature of their relationship.
After reportedly meeting in October that sparked a romance, 25-year-old Healy admits being "smitten" with the country/pop star but admits the relationship was "fake."
While on 2DayFM radio's Shazam Top 20, Matt said that his romance with Swift, 24, is " fake. It's all bloody fake. It's a farce!"
The British rocker continued, quoted News.com.au: "We met each other, we exchanged numbers in the same way that a lot of people in this world do. We spoke occasionally."
He says with finality, "There's no relationship or anything happening. It's just funny how people really buy into that."
However, the 1975 frontman hinted he wouldn't mind being Swift's significant other, "It didn't really happen... As much as it would be amazing for me if it did, unfortunately it didn't."
The statement of Matt comes after "Blank Space" singer's rep said back in December, recalled Celebuzz, that the blonde beauty remains "happily single."
Taylor Loves the Single Life
She's beautiful, talented with a great personality to boot and while Swift's got a mass following, the eligible lady revealed to Esquire for its Nov. 2014 issue that she's happy to be unattached.
"I never thought I would be so happy being completely unattached to anyone romantically," said the singer and continued: "I think it's healthy for everyone to go a few years without dating, just because you need to get to know who you are,"
She explained her sentiments saying, "And I've done more thinking and examining and figuring out how to cope with things on my own than I would have if I had been focusing on someone else's emotions and someone else's schedule. It's been really good."
Swift has been linked to a number of big name stars that include Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, John Mayer and Conner Kennedy.
Taylor has been focused on promoting her new album 1989 and preparing for her 2015 World Tour.
