Shakira, Gerard Piqué Welcome Second Son in World Baby Shower

Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Piqué are about to welcome their second son. But instead of holding a lavish baby shower, the couple opted to continue to support a good cause.

The 37-year-old Colombian pop singer and her 27-year-old soccer player boyfriend shared a new set of family photos on Sunday for their UNICEF World Baby Shower campaign, according to Fox News Latino.

The pictures feature Shakira's growing family: The blooming singer posed with Piqué and their adorable son Milan, who will celebrate his second birthday on January 22.

The singer posted one of the images on Twitter and she captioned it with, "Our second son arrives soon. We invite you to join our #WorldBabyShower for @UNICEF at https://worldbabyshower.org/ . Shak"

In a statement posted on the charity's website, the family encouraged others to organize their own World Baby Showers, "where guests can access an 'inspired gift registry' that allows them to donate food, vaccines and other supplies to needy children," E! Online reported.

The statement read: "In 2013, we welcomed Milan, our first child into the world. Thanks to your generosity, our first World Baby Shower for UNICEF was an incredible success! Now that we're expecting our second child, we want to invite other expectant parents to host their own world baby shower. You don't have to be a celebrity to make a difference-the birth of your child can be a blessing that also saves thousands of children's lives around the world!!"

Shakira announced that she is pregnant with her second son in Cosmopolitan Mexico's October issue. Rumors about her second pregnancy began after the singer's World Cup performance in July, where she was seen with a small baby bump and wearing "a more conservative outfit than usual," according to a separate report from Fox News Latino.

The pop star also opened up about having more children. She said, "I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard--my own fútbol team," as quoted by E! Online.

Shakira and Piqué's first World Baby Shower aimed to assist UNICEF's mission for children was held from January to February 2013, and "as a result, over 80,000 children were vaccinated against polio while nearly four tonnes of therapeutic food helped children suffering from malnutrition," Daily Mail reported.

According to Billboard, the singer and "The Voice" judge also has her own foundation called Pies Descalzos, which helped build schools in Colombia and support the education of poor children.

Fans of her music should also expect new songs from the pop artist. Her new album is expected to come out later this year followed by an international tour, Billboard added.
