NBA Trade: Lance Stephenson Joins Brooklyn Nets? Suns to Trade Miles Plumee

Charlotte Hornets' Lance Stephenson has become popular in the trade discussion after his team expressed its interest to send the player to Brooklyn Nets, reports ESPN.

In a possible three-way trade, sources said Stephenson will be sent to the Nets, while Brooklyn center Brook Lopez would join Oklahoma City Thunders. Charlotte, meanwhile, would take in Jarrett Jack from Brooklyn and Jeremy Lamb and Grant Jerrett from Oklahoma City, sources reported.

OKC has already agreed to the deal with the Hornets to trade Stephenson. Only the Nets has not given its confirmation on the three-way deal.

It has not been a good year for the Nets (16-23), losing seven straight games in the season. And general manager Billy King is not happy about how things are going for the team so he wanted to shake things up by trading some of the team members for players that would hopefully keep the team afloat.

According to sources, the Nets made it clear that Lopez, point guard Deron Williams, and swingman Joe Johnson are available via trade. The team is already talking about a possible trade with the Sacramento Kings for Williams.

In a post by Washington Post, it seems that Stephenson did not have some good time the past summer with the Hornets. In fact, his team regretted signing the player to a three-year, $27 million contract with the Hornets in the offseason after he only figured 38.6 percent from the field. In addition, a pelvic strain kept the 24-year-old player from playing 14 straight games.

Stephenson was a star at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn. Apart from a history of off-court trouble, he has been criticized for his on-court attics, which included blowing in LeBron James' ear during last season's Eastern Conference finals.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns has been trying to find a new team for center Miles Plumlee, whose playing time has steadily dwindled after the team acquired Brandan Wright from the Boston Celtics, reports SB Nation.

26-year-old Plumlee posts an average of five points, five rebounds and one block in 20 minutes per game. He was selected 26th overall by Indiana in ‎the 2012 draft. A year later, before his brother Mason was selected No. 22 overall by Brooklyn in the 2013 draft.

Right now, the Suns is working with his agent, Mark Bartelstein, to find a new home for Plumlee, who is on his third year with the Suns.

On ESPN, senior writer Marc Stein said that the Suns is seeking at least one future first-round pick in exchange for Plumlee.
