Prince William and Duchess Catherine may be royalty, but that does not mean they don't get to act like normal commoners from time to time, especially when it comes to babies - mainly, their own.
The royal couple said that they don't know the sex of their new baby yet, but Kate insisted that their second child is already pretty active in the womb. During her visit at the Kensington Leisure Centre in West London, the Duchess, according to the Telegraph, told 17-year-old Martina McDonagh of the Jack Tizard School, "It's moving all the time. I can feel it kicking now."
Prince George's mom is already six months pregnant and due in April, but despite her growing belly, she has been active in her royal duties as of late. The stop at the Kensington Leisure Centre, for instance, is part of her opening of the Kensington Leisure Centre in West London, built on the site of a pool where Prince William and his brother, Prince Harry, learned how to swim.
The almost 18-month-old prince George has already started going to the pool at the Buckingham Palace with his mother, but later on, it is expected that he too, will follow his father's and uncle's footsteps by learning in the Centre when he's a bit older.
Tim Ahern, Cabinet Member for environment and leisure, said in People, "The Duchess was talking about Prince William learning to swim here and she said she hoped Prince George can come here to learn too."
He also added, "If George goes to school at Wetherby or one of the other local schools, he will almost certainly come here. Wetherby will use it."
Her stop at the school was her third of the day, and despite royalty being, well, royalty, children, apparently were not as enamored at the Duchess. In a separate article, the Telegraph said that a young toddler had a sudden attack of shyness and refused to give the Duchess the bouquet of flowers that he's been practicing to present all weekend.
Earlier, the Los Angeles Times reported that the former Kate Middleton opened the Kensington Aldridge Academy nearby, and had "coffee morning" with volunteers and beneficiaries of Family Friends, a charity which provides mentoring programs for families that are struggling to cope.
Through all her day's engagements, Parade noted that the ever fashionable Duchess rocked her bump in a brown silk dress from Hobbs (retailing at only $75) with minimal accessories that included black court shoes, black clutch, and her gold-plated Mirabelle earrings for a touch of royal glitz.
