For those who have seen the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer, you'll note that the stars of teaser video were the film's new actors, not the original trilogy stars, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher.
While the film is due out at the end of the year, Latino-Review claims that per their insider, the second trailer for the much-awaited seventh installment will debut along with the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" release set for May 1, 2015.
The interesting tidbit in the Review's report is that they source claims unlike the first trailer that featured franchise newbies, the upcoming teaser will include footage of original crew, Han, Luke, Leia and Chewbacca.
According to Slash Film, in addition to having reported the "Avengers" piggyback trailer release date a month earlier, the site claims the original cast footage is news to them.
While their sources tipped the release date, their source's information contradicts what SlashFilm was told, "They said the original trilogy characters would not be featured in the marketing because Lucasfilm wants to keep their specific roles as secret as possible. Plus, with so many new characters, worlds, ships, etc. to sell people on, they don't want to show too much familiar stuff. They want it to be Star Wars, but a new Star Wars, like the first teaser trailer. Familiar yet different."
The site goes on to note that the original actors may be shown in the second trailer, but it's their understanding that they won't be focal points in the clip. The move to limit the appearance of the Hamill and company could be to generate more curiosity as well as rope in the newer generation by showing some of the younger actors.
When the first trailer for Episode 7 hit the airwaves, the teaser was met with a lot of criticism, specifically because it featured new actor John Boyega, 22. As fans dissected the trailer, Boyega's appearance in the film as a black Stormtrooper caused a stir over social media.
The British actor responded to critics, some of which provided racist remarks, with four simple words over Instagram, "Get used to it."
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will cruise into theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
