The Verge notes that the 11-hour block of live programming on Feb. 1 won't require a subscription. Unlike in 2012, when NBC offered steaming services, the content for "Super Stream Sunday" is set to include pregame coverage, the game as well as the Halftime Show.
Using the NBC Sports Live Extra app, users won't have to log in to the app for extended viewing during Super Bowl Sunday but Sports Illustrated notes you will get prompts informing you of additional benefits when logged in.
"We are leveraging the massive digital reach of the Super Bowl to help raise overall awareness of TV Everywhere by allowing consumers to explore our vast TVE offering with this special one-day-only access," said Alison Moore, g.m. and exec VP of TV Everywhere for NBCU in a statement.
