"The Hunger Games" film saga may be coming to a close, but exciting news awaits its star, Jennifer Lawrence.
According to Master Herald, rumors surfaced that Oscar-winning actress may be joining the sequel of the hit animated movie "Frozen." Some rumors claim that Jennifer would lend her voice to Queen Elsa, who was voiced by Idina Menzel in the original film.
But sources revealed that Jennifer's camp was lukewarm to the idea and was reluctant in signing the "Silver Linings Playbook" actress on the sequel. Apparently, Disney wanted to cast her because oher huge following could be used as a good promotion for the film.
However, details remain unclear as Disney has kept quiet about its next project. It is likely that all the reports are plain rumors.
In an interview with Telegraph, Idina Menzel said that the sequel to "Frozen" was "all in the works." But she pointed out that that she has not signed up for the stage show yet, but she is hoping to reprise her role in the movie.
But for now, a follow-up to the movie is the short film called "Frozen Forever." Some characters in the movie are also now part of ABC's fairytale drama series "Once Upon a Time."
Aside from this, Cinema Blend reports that Random House will be producing a chapter-book series based on the popular animated film, and would likely to pick up the story where it left off.
Two books, "Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen" and "Anna & Elsa #2: Memory and Magic," have already went on sale last Jan. 6. The publishing company said that two more books will follow later this year.
But according to a post by Screen Rant, some fans argued that Disney could instead focus on creating a new and original animated film. They pointed out that they do not want "Frozen" to go the way of most Hollywood films that have been turned into franchises.
"Frozen" became the highest-grossing animated film of all time, raking in more than $1.219 billion dollar in box office worldwide, reports TIME. It was also ranked as the fifth highest-grossing movie ever.
The movie took home two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for "Let It Go," and bagged the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film, according to a post by USA Today. It also won the BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film and five Annie Awards. At the Critics' Choice Awards, it won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
