14-year old Willow Smith has caused another controversy. The daughter of actors Will and Jada Pinkett Smith posted a shocking photo of herself appearing to be topless on her Instagram, causing quite a stir on social media.
According to Celebuzz, Smith posted a photo in which she seemed to be topless with breasts and nipples showing. However, upon closer look, the teen is actually wearing a long-sleeved shirt. The shirt's design is that of another woman's bare breasts.
It was later reported by Styleite that the shirt was vintage Jean Paul Gaultier, a French haute couture and pret-a-porter designer.
The "Whip My Hair" singer is known for her bold fashion statements. It is not clear whether the photo was taken for a fashion shoot or if the teen is backing the "Free The Nipple" campaign, noted IB Times. The said advocacy hopes to encourage free speech and women empowerment through body parts that are considered taboo by the society. Notable supporters of the group are Rihanna and Miley Cyrus.
The campaign has gotten notoriety for the numerous stars and singers that have supported it, said Fashion Magazine. However, these stars are all over the age of 20 years old.
Since seeing the photo online, some think the statement shirt is too much for a teen, said Hollywood Life. Concerns have come up that the daughter of Hollywood stars Will and Jada are starting to show risqué behavior, noted NY Daily News.
The actress has remained mum on the matter and has not clarified anything on her social media account.
This wouldn't be the first time the 14-year old caused a sensation in social media.
In February 2014, Smith shared a black and white picture of herself in bed with actor Moises Arias, who was topless. The teen was only 13 years old then and Arias was seven years her senior.
The photo went viral and Smith along with her parents drew flak for its suggested sensuality.
Smith's mother, Jada, came to her daughter's defense and told TMZ, "Here's the deal. There was nothing sexual about that picture or that situation. You guys are projecting your trash onto it. You're acting like covert pedophiles and that's not cool."
43-year old Smith's statements did not prevent Child Protective Services from investigating her and husband's parenting habits, reported Hollywood Life. Arias was also invited for questioning since he was the other person in the photo.
