Nissan Maxima 2015 Release Date, Price & Review: Sedan Already in Production?

Car enthusiasts who were at the Detroit Auto Show were treated to a glimpse of the upcoming sports car from Nissan. The new sports sedan concept was said to be the prototype of the all-new Nissan Maxima to come out later this year.

The all-new Nissan Maxima is scheduled to debut at the New York Auto Show in April, reported Motor Authority. But as early as January, many are already speculating how it would look like based from the concept car they saw on the automobile show.

According to Master Herald, the upcoming sports sedan from Nissan would be called Maxima Nismo. The design would be a fusion of designs from other Nissan models that would exude a sporty, sleek and futuristic finish no other Nissan car model possess.

A major highlight of the upcoming car is the headlights, which is shaped like a boomerang, and packed with LED lights. The taillights also boast of the same shape. A trapezoid-shaped chrome grille in the font completes the "V-motion" design detailed by Car and Driver.

Meanwhile black pillars are placed on the side of the roof to give it the illusion of a lower stance and make the roof seem to be "floating."

The car's interior is a combination of metallic and high-contrast colors while the seats are quilted with diamond-shaped graphics on it.

Another thing that screams "luxury" in this sedan is the 21-inch aluminum alloy wheels, which must be outfitted with a 275/30 tire size.

The car on display is set with the "Strad Amber" color, a combination of gold base coat painted on top with an orange amber color.

While the make of the exterior is set to give anyone the treat of a coupe in a sedan model, the new Maxima is 191.7 inches long and 75.3 wide. The height is at 54.3 inches, a ground clearance that adds to the aerodynamic appeal of the new car.

The powerful-looking car is rumored to be outfitted with an equally powerful engine inside. A 3.5-liter V-6 engine comes with the new Maxima, making it 300-horsepower strong. The sedan's transmission is similar to the Xtronic CVT.

A hybrid version is also rumored to be in the works, according to Autoomobile.

With the updates on the look, the all-new Nissan Maxima Nismo is expected to fetch a price starting at $31,000 with the higher-end types around $40,000, said Future New Car Release.

The car is already in production and prototypes were already seen being tested. The car would be officially launched at the New York Auto Show in April.
