'Resident Evil HD' Release Date & Gameplay: Special Suprise at End of Game Revealed

Fans of the survival-horror video game "Resident Evil," would now have the chance to play their favorite game on high definition. The game's developer, Capcom has recently released a remake of the classic game, "Resident Evil HD."

According to IB Times, the new "Resident Evil HD" is an upgraded version of the 2002 video game from GameCube. The most obvious change is a clearer resolution for the new game with the use of 1080p resolution. This gives players a better perspective and clearer vision of what is happening within the game.

Players could also choose from playing the regular 4:3 aspect ratio or switch it into full widescreen HDTV support.

IGN has outlined the notable differences between the versions. One distinction is the addition of a stick-based movement, which is in free form, so players are not limited to the direction they want their characters to head. Using the stick allows gamers to have their characters run in full speed.

Aside from this, the new stick-based movement gives players better momentum when running to a different direction. The movement of the character remains the same even when the camera angle and location changes. Unlike in previous games when a character enters a new room, momentum is slowed down.

Even the zombie opponents received an upgrade in this new 'Resident Evil' version, IGN noted. "These fast, lethal super-zombies are created after you kill a standard zombie and leave his corpse unburned. After enough time has passed, the corpse will reanimate as a faster, more lethal Crimson Head," said the report.

Crimson Heads could be obliterated with the use of Kerosine Flask and any incendiary weapon. Another option is to blow up the head of the zombie so it would not reanimate as a Crimson Head.

While loyal fans of the video game may think that the HD version is just the same old one with better graphics, developers have included a bigger area and additional enemies to fight off.

And, perhaps the most exciting part of the game is found at the end. According to Gamerant, those who are persistent enough to finish the HD version would be treated to a special message from Shinji Mikami, the original creator of the franchise.

While Mikami is not connected with Capcom anymore, and has since established his own development studio, the message was added to show gratitude to his fans' support through the years.

The new "Resident Evil HD" came out on January 20 and is now available for Playstation 3 and 4, Xbox One and 360 and PC.
