A new Apple is coming to town. Leaked photos of the upcoming MacBook Retina showed the latest addition in the tech giant's list of devices and it seemed that it would debut with a new look.
According to BGR, the upcoming MacBook would come in a slimmer and smaller version. While Apple used to come out with 11-inch laptops in the past, it was reported that the company would now launch a 12-inch MacBook Air to replace it. Meanwhile, the 13-inch models would remain in the company's list.
As the company aims to bring more mobility to users of their products, the new MacBook Air would also be thinner than its predecessor. This is due to a new technology, which the company has adopted.
In a report by Yahoo, the forthcoming laptop will now use Intel's Core M processor. As such, the device would no longer require a cooling fan inside its hardware that adds weight and bulk.
Perhaps, the most unique update with the 2015 MacBook Retina is the new logo design on its cover. The company has finally upgraded their logo and it would be first revealed on this laptop.
But Apple loyalists need not worry they won't be seeing the bitten apple logo on its new device. The fruit with a bite would remain the same with just a minor change.
Previous laptops sported the logo using white translucent plastic. This time, the company decided to replace it with a solid metallic design. The same material for the logo has been used in the iPad Air and iPad Air 2 tablets.
Master Herald noted that the metallic logo would be the beginning of the Apple logo's future in coming devices. While it's not really significant, the logo would still be a change in the overall design of the new laptop.
In the photos released by Chinese tech website ifanr.com, the tablet was compared to the 13-inch MacBook Air and iPad Air 2, which are both out in the market.
The photos showed that the cover of the new laptop is just a bit thicker than the iPad Air 2 by a few millimeters. The display screen is said to use thinner bezels to be able to have a larger display.
Apple has not confirmed if the photos found online indeed show the upcoming MacBook Air Retina.
Meanwhile, reports have circulated that the new device would be launched in the first quarter of this year. This too, remains unconfirmed by the company.
