A "Beauty and the Beast" film has been confirmed to be on the way. Multiple online sources have already confirmed that Emma Watson was selected to portray Belle, but fans have been wondering on who will be chosen for Beast and the rest of the Disney classic's characters.
Although Hollywood is filled with hunky actors who fit the Beast description, fans are saying that the "Game of Thrones" actor, Kit Harington gives the best Beast vibe, according to Hollywood Life. He is gorgeous with his long hair and his obvious regard for facial hair. His eyes are also very emotional, which is befitting for a scary, huge being that turns out to be a giant softie.
"Twilight" fans would agree to disagree, however. They think that Robert Pattinson is the best choice for the Beast role. He has been doing a lot of indie dramas lately, which might make others initially believe that he cannot properly portray the role of Beast. However, he is a pretty stellar actor who can easily transition himself from a young adult franchise to more serious roles, such as in "Bel Ami" and "Water for Elephants."
Moreover, since the director of the upcoming live-action "Beauty and the Beast" rendition is Bill Condon, who happens to be the director of "Twilight," RobPat could be a shoo-in for the role.
Jake Gyllenhaal is also among the top contenders for the highly coveted part. He would have gotten the chance to portray the role of a Disney prince, specifically Rapunzel's prince, in "Into the Woods," but he reportedly had to drop out to make way for "Nightcrawler," according to Screen Rant.
Apart from Beast, another "Beauty and the Beast" spot that actors are trying to nail is Gaston. He might be the villain, but he is undeniably handsome. Sugar Scape has come up with a list of actors whom they think are suitable for the part, and right at the top of the list is "22 Jump Street" star, Channing Tatum.
It will be good for Tatum to play the baddie for once. He has another film coming by July this year, the highly anticipated "Magic Mike XXL." The actor has always been known for his amazingly lean physique, as he has so confidently flaunted off in the upcoming comedy with his barely there outfits.
Tatum undeniably comes to mind whenever one of the "Beauty and the Beast" songs plays, "No one's slick as Gaston. / No one's quick as Gaston. / No one's neck's as incredibly thick as Gaston's."
