The United States Men's National Soccer Team will face Chile in an international friendly match on Wednesday night at Estadio El Teniente de Rancagua in Chile.
USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann will parade a mixture of young and veteran players against Chile, but will miss several key players because the match day does not fall into an international window.
The USMNT will play without Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan, Stoke City defensive specialist Geoff Cameron and Nantes midfielder Alejandro Bedoya, but will parade Tottenham fullback DeAndre Yedlin.
Veteran international players like Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore will play and guide the eight uncapped players who are set to make their debut for the USMNT.
Klinsmann expects a tough match against Chile because he will be parading a relatively inexperienced squad, but the USMNT coach believes that his team is capable of getting good results in their first friendly match for 2015.
"These guys have put in a lot of work these past two weeks of training for what is essentially their preseason, and now it's time to focus on getting a result against a difficult opponent in Chile," Klinsmann said of his players. "We know it's going to be a challenging situation, but these are the types of opportunities we need to keep growing."
United States midfielder Jermaine Jones also expressed confidence that the veterans will step up on Wednesday, and take the young players under their wings in order to start the year on a high note, especially after losing in their last two friendlies - 4-1 against Ireland and 2-1 against Colombia in November last year.
"It's important that we come out with a win," Jones said via Fox Sports. "We have a lot of players with experience. We need to step on the field, try to take the young players with us and play a good game."
On the other hand, Chile will also look to bounce back after losing to Uruguay, 2-1, in the previous friendly, which came after they scored an impressive 5-0 win against Venezuela.
Like the USMNT, Chile will also miss the services of key players like FC Barcelona veteran goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, Inter Milan midfielder Gary Medel and Arsenal star forward Alexis Sanchez, who were not given permission to play for their national team.
Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli, who was hailed as one of the best coaches last year after stirring the national team to impressive performances, is still confident that the group of Chile-based players he has at disposal will be up to the challenge against the visiting squad.
The USA-Chile match will be shown live on Fox Sports 1 and beIN Sports 14 starting 6 p.m. EST. Fans can also catch the match through online live stream via Fox Soccer2Go and beIN Sports Play in the United States.
