Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might come together for a new film again. Rumors are circulating that the 51-year-old actor is in talks to star in another movie, which would be directed by his wife.
According to E! News, Pitt is in negotiations to play the lead role in the upcoming biopic about archaeologist Richard Leakey titled, "Africa." The movie is said to center around the life of Leakey, who staunchly defended elephants against poachers in Kenya in the 1980s.
Reps of the "Benjamin Button" actor have not confirmed the rumors yet.
Jolie is set to direct the film written by Eric Roth, the man behind "Forrest Gump," reported The Wrap. Roger Deakins, the famed cinematographer of "Unbroken," would also join the team which is set to start production this summer.
The "Girl, Interrupted" star shared, "I've felt a deep connection to Africa and its culture for much of my life, and was taken with Eric's beautiful script about a man drawn into the violent conflict with elephant poachers who emerged with a deeper understanding of man's footprint and a profound sense of responsibility for the world around him."
The movie, which would be produced by Skydance, is set to be the fourth film under Jolie's belt as a director, reported People. Her third directorial project, "By The Sea," is due this year.
She and husband Pitt went to work on the movie right after they tied the knot in 2014. "By The Sea" is about a couple trying to make their marriage work while they spend a trip in Europe.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner said, "Yes, we spent our honeymoon playing two people in a terrible marriage." She added, "I'm sure a therapist would have a field day analyzing the films I choose to do. But it's been 10 years since Brad and I have worked together. It felt like it was time."
The famous couple met on the set of the controversial "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" where the two reportedly fell in love with each other.
When asked how it was working with her husband, Jolie coyly replied, "Compared to 'Unbroken,' this film is a walk in the park."
She mentioned that the challenge was in directing herself and her husband.
"It's hard, dramatic material, and we're balancing. It's a heavy film, and it's not easy for us. But even as you struggle through it, you're in the trenches together and you don't expect it to be easy. We're challenging each other, and that's a really good thing," Jolie added.
