Hollywood's dirty-talking bear is back for a sequel. Reports have been confirmed that "Ted 2" would hit theaters soon and advertisement for the movie would be unveiled at the Super Bowl.
According to Breathe Cast, Mark Wahlberg would return to reprise his role in the film as John Bennett, Ted's human best friend. Seth MacFarlane, who wrote and directed the film, would also come back to lend his voice as Ted.
Based from the trailer that came out this week, the sequel follows the story of Ted after he married his human girlfriend. It seems that the couple wanted to have a baby, which Ted shared with John.
For Ted to have a baby, it was implied in the trailer that he would need to prove himself human. He and John went to seek the help of a lawyer, played by Amanda Seyfriend.
Mila Kunis, who played John's girlfriend in the first film, would not be the female lead in the follow-up movie. A report by Deadline published in 2014 said, "it looks like Mila Kunis will only appear in a tiny role, if at all, in the sequel."
No statement has been released yet regarding Kunis' absence in the second film.
Morgan Freeman, Jessica Barth and Liam Neeson are also joining the cast of "Ted 2."
Meanwhile, Universal Pictures is said to have planned a "Ted 2" ad to be shown at the Superbowl, said BostInno.
The ad would center on Ted's fertility concern and quest to find for a sperm donor.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is said to have a cameo at the Super Bowl advertisement. Brady would play the role of a possible sperm donor both in the advertisement as well as in the film.
Incidentally, the New England Patriots is going against the Seattle Seahawks at the Super Bowl.
Because of a recent controversy Brady and Patriots coach Bill Belichick was involved in, the men behind "Ted 2" reportedly planned on revising the ad scheduled for the major football event, said The Hollywood Reporter.
The new ad was supposed to have a direct reference to the deflated balls controversy in which Brady's team, the Patriots, was accused of. However, the difficulty in Ted's animation proved to be the deciding factor and executives maintained the original one.
On the other hand, an employee from Universal Pictures denied the rumors.
"Ted 2" would hit theaters on June 26, 2015.
