Fans of the upcoming movie "Fifty Shades of Grey," based from the same novel by E.L. James, may not have much left to their imagination when they see the film on screen. A website, whose focus is to track nudity in TV shows and movies, has awarded the film as the sexiest movie to come out in the past 10 years.
According to The Daily Mail, the website Mr. Skin, has ranked the movie starring Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as the "raunchiest movie of the decade." The site's basis was the amount of sexual scenes in the movie.
The film is said to have more than a dozen sexual scenes, which amounts to one-fifth or 20 minutes total of the whole 100-minute reel.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" is one of the year's most-anticipated movie. The film centers on a BDSM erotic love affair between Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan, and Anastasia Steele, portrayed by Dakota Johnson.
While the website may have tagged the film as the decade's "raunchiest," the movie's lead actor has described the filming as "not erotic."
Speaking to the Express, Dornan said that, "There is no forced sex in the film. It is all consensual." He also added, "And from my point of view there is nothing sexy about performing scenes in front of half a dozen hairy men moving cables and lighting equipment."
Even Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed the film, said it is not as graphic as some people might think so.
The 47-year-old English director said filming the sex scenes was the most challenging part of the film. "The thing that was most difficult was how and where to pepper the sex, and not to make it feel like it was gratuitous," she revealed.
"So it had to be a really strong part of the story, and I had to give characterization to each sex scene, to make them different," she added.
While the sex scenes are deemed important in the movie, author E.L. James knew that some of the scenes in the book would not make the cut in the movie to tone it down.
"'Fifty Shades of Grey' is first and foremost a romantic love story, and the sex is only part of that," said the author to Variety.
"People who haven't read the books might be surprised there isn't more sex on the screen, but that's because they've gone by media reports of 'Fifty Shades,' which have tended to err on the side of the sensational. I'm pretty sure the millions of fans who have read the trilogy will think there is enough sex," she clarified.
