Microsoft has hit the jackpot when it released its tablet and laptop hybrid, the Surface Pro. Now, it seems that the company is intent on topping that record and would like to add, "gaming console" to its gadget as well. Rumors are circulating that the upcoming Surface Pro 4 would allow users to play Xbox games on their device.
According to Crossmap, heavy upgrades are heading to the latest hybrid device of Microsoft. One of the things users could expect is a bigger RAM space. The new Surface Pro 4 is rumored to have 16 GB, twice the size of its predecessor.
Meanwhile, The Fuse Joplin reported that the new device would come with an Intel Core M processor. This, coupled with the big RAM space, would make the Surface Pro 4 one fast and powerful device.
And it's just fitting to upgrade the gadget's RAM with Microsoft looking to stream Xbox games into the device through its new operating system, Windows 10.
According to Breathecast, Xbox has been looking at other possible ways to expand their gaming services and has considered Windows 10 as the step.
Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said, "Now, we are bringing that same focus, passion, and commitment to gaming on Windows 10, enhancing PC games and gaming devices you already love."
Aside from possible games streaming, the company behind the hybrid device has also upgraded the pixel resolution of its display for better user experience. The device would come at 2160x1440 resolution.
And if you are the type who prefers devices small and handy as opposed to big and bulky, you would need not worry as the Surface Pro 4 is set to come out in two sizes.
Users who prefer a bigger screen for their games and work could take advantage of the 14-inch Surface Pro 4. On the other hand, others who are looking for an iPad alternative could check out the rumored 8-inch version.
Those who work on-the-go and need to be connected all the time would enjoy this upcoming device's upgraded connectivity. The Surface Pro 4 is said to be LTE capable.
The higher connection capability is one of Intel's goals to make almost 15% of gadgets all over the world available to data connection by 2018, the Surface Pro 4 included.
No price has been set yet for Microsoft's latest device, which is alleged to come out in mid 2015 to early 2016. However, with the Surface Pro 3 currently selling at $799, some reports have noted that it's possible the new Surface Pro 4 would start at $1000.
