There are a number of questions fans would like answered when it comes to upcoming blockbuster, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and one of these would be the role of actor Andy Serkis. Den of Geek reports that Marvel has just made two new announcements that have fans smiling.
The comic icon confirms that the film's UK release has been bumped up a full 24 hours allowing fans to watch the film by April 23 and that the "Planet of the Apes" star will be playing the role of supervillain Ulysses Klaw.
Marvel and Disney provided Stitch Kingdom with a series of official photos complete with captions that indicate the skilled actor will be bringing Ulysses Klaw to life.
In the newly released still, Serkis sports a menacing look as he holds a gun. The picture showing a rugged and greased Andy is captioned, "Ulysses Klaw (Andy Serkis)."
For those that aren't familiar with the character, Klaw, a physicist, first appeared in the "Fantastic Four" series. As a scientist, Klaw's field of work lies in sonics and develops the ability to convert sound waves into mass.
In an interview with Empire Magazine (via Flickering Myth), Serkis discussed a bit about his company, Imaginarium, and the work they've done on the film.
"It's a journey I end up going on with the actors," shared the star. "To find out what they want to get out of it, and and what we can do to help them so it's still them authoring the role. Initially when you're asking them to put a grey suit on, they're not very into the idea. But it's usually within the first hour, when they can see the result of them being in that suit [on screen] in real-time, they settle in. And then they've lost themselves in our world. James in particular - he loved every minute of it."
Other notable performances credited to the talented artist include Gollum in "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" films as well as Caesar in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" series.
"Age of Ultron" is directed by Joss Whedon and sees the return of "Avengers" stars, namely, Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye).
New actors cast in the film include Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Bettany and playing Ultron, James Spader.
To date, there is no word if the US release will follow a fast-forwarded release date. As it stands, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will hit theaters May 1.
