In completely unsurprising news, "Call of Duty" fans will be pleased to know that Activision finally announced on Thursday that a new title of the popular game will be released this fall.
The game, brought to you by Treyarch, will be the first franchise game by the "Black Ops" developer to have a three-year development cycle, reports IGN.
Treyarch has worked on "Call of Duty" games previously, their most recent being 2012's "Call of Duty: Black Ops II." Other games developed by Treyarch for the series include "Call of Duty 2: Big Red One," "Call of Duty 3," "World at War," and "Black Ops."
Treyarch developed the Black Ops series as well as a number of other titles but Activision has yet to coonfirm if Treyarch's new title would be Black Ops 3 or a different game altogether.
Notably, this is Treyarch's first Call of Duty game to be developed on Activision's new three-year, three-studio development schedule. Treyarch's most recent game was 2012's Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
Although, following the confirmation of the upcoming game, Treyarch Studios took to Twitter to share the news and provide a teaser.
"COD in 2015 confirmed. We look forward to carrying on the conversation...that is, if we haven't started it already. #InDevelopment," tweeted the studio.

Based on the statement of Treyarch, the firm is teasing the game as already begun development on the upcoming title. So, could this mean fans can expect more information soon?
According to GameSpot, as Activision is still supporting last year's release, "Call of Duty: Advanced Advanced Warfare" with new content, details about this year's release probably won't be available for a few months. The site further noted that in the past, Activision usually unveils new games sometime in May.
As of now, we cannot confirm if the new title game will be an entirely different "Call of Duty" game or be a continuation of the Black Ops series that Treyarch has been successful at developing.
The release date of the new "Call of Duty" game is expected to drop sometime during the 2015 holiday season.
For now, gamers will have to make do with Advanced Warfare's Havoc DLC due to arrive for PS4, PS3, and PC on Feb. 26.
We'll update as soon as information comes in. Stay tuned for more!
