‘Narcos’ Season 2 Plot Spoilers: Show to Retain ‘True to Form’ Narrative; Filming Underway, Netflix Release Date Still Unknown

Since the success of the first season of "Narcos" on Netflix, fans have been anticipating news regarding Season 2 of the show. The series has been previously confirmed for renewal, and recent reports claim that production for the show is already ongoing. However, the release date for Season 2 remains unconfirmed, though there have been reports that the show may return in August 2016, around the same timeline that the hit series debuted this year.

While details on Season 2 of "Narcos" remain scant, Youth Health has reported that the show is expected to retain its true-to-form narrative, which is what reportedly attracted viewers to the series in the first place.

Fans know that "Narcos" is based on the life of Pablo Escobar, the notorious drug lord from Colombia known as "The King of Cocaine." The Season 1 of the show has showcased the beginning of his career as a drug lord, and his rise in the industry and journey to becoming among the wealthiest men in the world is expected to be further detailed in Season 2 of the show.

According to previous reports, Wagner Moura, who plays Pablo Escobar in the series, had dished details about the show and his character via a Reddit MMA session. In the session, the actor shared that toward the finale of "Narcos" Season 1, Escobar "had changed," which led to speculations that the new season may see the drug lord changing ways.

Meanwhile, KDramaStars reports that the Netflix series' release date is indeed still unknown. Fans will have to wait then for further news regarding the show to find out if the reported August 2016 premiere of "Narcos" Season 2 will indeed push through or not.
