Charlie Hunnam regrets quitting the role of Christian Grey in the "Fifty Shades Darker" movie. Hunnam has described his painful decision to quit his role in Fifty Shades.

EW reports that Charlie Hunnam has explained during the interview his painful decision to pull out from the casting of Fifty Shades in late 2013, a few weeks before the production of E.L James' film adaptation would begin.

It was remembered that fans of Charlie Hunnam had been protesting of his decision to quit playing the role of Christian Grey. The reason for leaving the movie project was a mixture of personal stuff plus his tight schedules with his hit FX series and a prior commitment with Guillermo del Toro's upcoming horror flick "Crimson Peak."

Though the reason for turning down "Fifty Shades" was good and perhaps acceptable, Charlie Hunnam said that it was painful for him to let go of the role. "It was very, very painful for me, that whole process, just very unpleasant," the "Sons of Anarchy" star told EW.

According to him, he felt like he didn't only let himself down but including the fans of "Fifty Shades." He also added that he had grown to love and respect the fans and people behind the "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Madeleine Davies of Jezebel.com has a different take of Hunnam's recent interview with EW. She said that it has been a very long awhile since the issue about Charlie Hunnam quitting the "Fifty Shades" even before it started shooting. "oh, my god. Are we still talking about this?" the reporter of Jezebel said.

The prattling of Charlie Hunnam over his decision to leave "Fifty Shades of Grey" has been translated in a different light. EnStars says that Charlie Hunnam might have just realized recently the worst mistake he made in his career. Another angle spotted is that Hunnam could have regretted "missing out on a multi-million dollar paycheck." Thus, he brought up once again his reason for quitting his role as Christian Grey as a "sensitive matter" during his fresh interview with Entertainment Weekly.
